Spectacle

Here is fifteen pictures I took on the theme of spectacle.

Rather than taking pictures which represent Spectacle overtly I thought I would try to capture scenes which would not initially come to mind when thinking of the theme.

I looked into day and night cycles, the difference in cloud formations and their effects on their surroundings and also general patterns which we follow in life, (the smoking of a cigarette, traffic lights, etc).

By using Photoshop I attempted to isolate the aspect of the scene I was attempting to capture, thus amplifying the subject and it’s effects.

In conclusion my take on the theme of Spectacle was to investigate the ‘little’ things which we usually don’t notice in our  everyday lives, and how their minute changes were examples of Spectacle themselves.

Eakveer – You have struck upon an interesting idea – how everyday scenes are a show in themselves – and have produced some stylised photographic work. These certainly demonstrate your creative engagement with the theme. However we really need to know a lot more about your thought processes, inspiration and research. What led you to this idea, what other stylized work have you looked out, who inspires you and why? We also need you to reflect on the task – what worked, what didn’t, what other avenues of practice would it work for and how could the idea be improved. The idea is good but more foundation work will add weight and worth.
